BP Start Training at TPO

Takatuf Petrofac Oman welcomes their first cohort of trainees at Al Rusayl, Muscat.

Muscat, Oman 29th April 2018: Takatuf Petrofac Oman (TPO) welcomed its first cohort of BP students to begin training at the new, purposely-built facility at Knowledge Oasis Oman (KOM) in Al-Rusayl on the 29th April. The successful BP candidates outperformed over 600 other applicants eager to be the first to complete their training at the only oil and gas training facility of its kind in the Middle East.

“It is a very special day for us here at TPO as we have worked hard to build a facility that we can confidently refer to as the very best in the region, if not the world,” commented Mr Glenn Harding, General Manager at TPO. “These are the first of a selected group of highly motivated BP students that are fortunate to have the incredible opportunity to be trained at the TPO facility.”

The comprehensive training course will last for a total of 18 months; the first 6 months will include intensive daily training in English, Maths and Health and Safety followed by a further 12 months of technical training putting that knowledge into practice in the state-of-the-art, on-site training facility at TPO. No other training facility in the Middle East offers such in-depth, thorough and comprehensive on-site training keeping health and safety at the forefront of all areas of learning.

Successful BP students will leave TPO primed and fully equipped to work as part of any team, within any of the oil and gas producing nations throughout the world, confident that they are equipped with the latest knowledge in technological advancement throughout the gas and oil industry as well as ensuring that every graduate is prepared for every and any eventuality should an emergency situation occur.

“We now look forward to greeting the next two cohorts, Salalah Methanol Company (SMC) that will be starting with us on the 3rd of June 2018 and Oman Oil Company (OOC) that will begin training on 15th July 2018,” concluded Mr Ben Holden, Head of Foundation.
