16th January 2020, Knowledge Oasis Muscat: Takatuf Petrofac Oman (TPO) announced that all 78 students, under the umbrella of OQ Group, Vale and OMIFCO have successfully graduated from their specialised technical training courses in Process Operations, Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance and Instrumentation.
“After an intensive 18-month programme it gives me enormous pleasure to know that our graduates are now able to enter the workplace with the security and surety that they are fully qualified and competent to do the jobs requested of them. They have all worked incredibly hard, every day, and deserve this success,” stated TPO’s General Manager.
The successful students will now begin their careers with the companies that have sponsored them throughout their training, these include; OQ Group, Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) and multinational metals and mining company, Vale.
TPO’s General Manager added that, “Health and Safety is the number one priority in our line of work and all of our graduates have been trained to ensure that they are safe and can be relied upon to be trusted with the health and safety of others in what is often a high-risk workplace.”
OQ graduate, Masoud Ahmed Baqi, stated that, “I am grateful for the help of the instructors who have many years of experience in their technical fields. I am also grateful for the confidence that I now have to be able to handle equipment safely, fix faults and follow all of the necessary safety regulations.”
All graduates will receive certificates from the National Training Fund (NTF) in addition to Level 2 and Level 3 awards from City & Guilds, the UK-based global leader in vocational skills and development.
